The brisket sandwich at Modern Cafe is too delicious not to share.
Thank you, Northeast Minneapolis and thanks to everyone who came out to see us this weekend at Art-A-Whirl. We had a great time catching up with old friends as well as meeting some new ones. This was the second year we’ve done Art-A-Whirl and we want to say a special thanks to both Jono of the Q.arma building and the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association for having us again this year.
Even though the storm that rolled through ended the party early on Sunday, we had one of the best weekends hanging out in Northeast Minneapolis. Here is a picture recap from the weekend.

Come join us at Art-A-While this weekend and upgrade your t-shirt collection with even more Minnesota pride. We’ll be outside the Q.arma Building on Quincy just north of Broadway. Stop in on your way to Indeed for a beer(s).
1224 Quincy St. N.E. Minneapolis, MN 55413

We couldn’t wait until next week to make these shirts available to you guys. We’ll be picking them up from the printer this week and they are now available for presale on our website. Purchase yours before midnight on Friday and you’ll get $5 off. Both are available in v-neck and crew neck.
The Manny’s Special sandwich from Manny’s Tortas in the Midtown Global Market. It’s a delicious combination of ham, pork, cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, avocado, jalapeño peppers, refried beans, chipotle pepper mayo and a bag of chips. I think these are all the ingredients but I might be missing one or two.
This is one serious sandwich that I can only eat once or twice a month.
Every Wednesday I post about a favorite sandwich from the Twin Cities and outstate Minnesota. If you’ve got a sandwich for me to try drop me a line on Twitter or in the comments.
Y.N. Richkids were hot before Cheetos and Takis. The young Minneapolis rap prodigies rep Minneapolis pretty hard in their latest video for the track “My Bike”. Riding ’round on their bicycles through the streets of Minneapolis with stops off at the Mall of America, Target Center, Vikings training ground and Target Field where T.C. Bear rolls up on his big wheel. Also included in the video are cameos by some other notable MPLS/STP rappers. Watch see how many other faces you recognize in the background.
I love these guys and can’t wait to see more and more of them around town. Swerve, swerve.
Sandwich Wednesday is where I post about a delicious sandwich from around the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Get caught up with previous Sandwich Wednesdays or let me know about some awesome sandwiches in the comments.
Bryant Lake Bowl in Uptown has always been one of my favorite places in Minneapolis to get a sandwich. They are all very very good, but my go to is the Turkey, Avocado & Bacon sandwich. Made with house pressed deli turkey, bacon, avocado, mayo, sprouts with a side of chips and a pickle.
This is a great BLT sandwich from the Dandelion Kitchen food truck. I really like this food truck a lot. All their ingredients are fresh and delicious. The BLT is made up of maple-glazed bacon, heirloom tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado with the option to include a pretzel bun.
You can usually find these guys parked right outside the IDS Center on the Nicollet Mall most days during lunchtime.
Over the weekend it was sunny and beautiful so I biked up to Lake Harriet to see if the ice was still on the lakes. Turns out despite it being 70+ there was quite a bit of ice on the lake. The previous record for latest ice out date on lake Harriet was April 28th 1965. I took this picture on the 28th and as you can see there is still plenty of ice on the lake.
You’ve seen sneak peeks of our Paul and Babe design before, but today I’m happy to show you the final version in all of it’s awesomeness. We can’t be proper Minnesotans if we don’t all have a Paul Bunyan & sidekick Babe t-shirt, can we?

Wear the Love.
